North Trinity Lake Online Calendar Help — Adding a New Event

When you want to add an event to the calendar, you will be presented with the "New Event" form window. Fill out the form with as much information as you have regarding the event. The form will be sent to the calendar owner who will double check the form and then accept the event into the calendar. You can request notification when the event is added, and you can send a private note to the calendar adminstrator.

The first line on the form labeled Calendar: shows you on which calendar the event will appear. If you have access to multiple calendars, ensure you are posting the event to the proper calendar.

Next, fill in the Title of the event. It should be descriptive, but only a couple of words. This title will appear on the main calendar, as well as the upcoming events list you see at the left. A long title will cause the calendar item to spill over into several lines. Good titles might be "BoS Meeting" or "Lions Club Social Mtg". These titles will fit on one or two lines in the calendar. You can get as descriptive as you like in the Notes field.

You may select one or more Categories for the event. This will help others find events in the various categories when they search the calendar. Some categories provide color highlighting on the calendar.

Fill in the Date of the event. The default will be the date you specified (if you clicked on one of the [+] links) or today's date if you clicked on the Add an Event tab. The little calendar icon presents a date chooser to make it even easier. Note that if you click on the Check for Conflicts option, then the little calendar icon pops up the events for the date you specified so that you can see if there are any conflicts in the calendar for that date.

Specify the start Time for the event. If this is an all-day event or an event without a specific start time, select the all day radio button. Otherwise, set the time of day and the duration of the event. Be sure to note am vs pm. The form will default to 12pm (noon).
