Trinity Center Volunteer Fire Department
The Trinity Center Volunteer Fire Department is a volunteer
organization that provides fire, rescue, and emergency
medical services to the residents of the Trinity
Center Community Services District.
Coffee Creek Volunteer Fire District
The Coffee Creek Volunteer Fire District is a volunteer organization that provides
fire, rescue, and emergency medical services to the residents of the
Coffee Creek Volunteer Fire District.
Trinity Hospital
Located in Weaverville, Trinity Hospital, operated
by the Mountain Communities Healthcare District,
is our local hospital and offers skilled staff to handle most emergency and medical needs. It provides
24-hour emergency room services with a physician on duty at all times.
In November 2011, a ballot measure passed renewing the Mountain Communities
Healthcare District annual $118-per-parcel property fee to fund the Hospital
District for five years.
Trinity Health Clinic
Co-located with the Trinity Hospital is the Trinity Health Clinic. The clinic offers walk-in service,
and is your best choice for non-emergency health services.
See their website for hours.
Ambulance Service
Ambulance service is provided by the Coffee Creek and Trinity Center VFDs. When
service is required to transport a patient outside our area, the patient is transported
via Air Ambulance, TCLS, or our own ambulance services depending on the situation. TCLS, the Trinity County Life
Support service, is based in Weaverville and will respond to our area to assist our own
ambulance services when needed. Our ambulances will occasionally transfer a patient to a
TCLS ambulance for transport to Weaverville Hospital.
Ambulance services are typically very expensive and many insurance plans do not cover the
cost of the ambulance service. The Coffee Creek and Trinity Center VFDs do not charge for
emergency transport. TCLS, however, does charge to cover the cost of running a larger
service with paid medical staff. TCLS offers their low-cost LSA (Life Support Association)
program to provide members with assurance that tranport costs will be covered. See the
TCLS website for membership information.
Air Ambulance
A substantial number of medical emergency patients are air lifted from Trinity Center airport to Redding.
Two air ambulance companies serve the north Trinity Lake area:
PHI Air Medical and
REACH.
Both services offer membership that will greatly reduce the cost of an emergency flight. PHI and REACH rotate
their coverage of our area. If you spend time in our area throughout the year, it is highly recommended
that you join both services.
